WW-IDEA, Inc. Privacy Policy, Terms of Use & Disclaimers

WW IDEA, Inc. is committed to safeguarding your privacy online. Please read the following statement to understand how your personal information will be treated as you make full use of the WW IDEA, Inc. web site (“Site”). The Site is owned and operated by WW IDEA, Inc.

A Special Note About Children:

Children (persons under the age of 13) are not eligible to use the Site unsupervised and we ask that children do not submit any personal information to us. If you are under the age of 13, you may only use this Site in conjunction with and under the supervision of your parents or guardians.

The Information We Collect:

Voluntary submission:

WW IDEA, Inc. does not collect personally identifying information about any individual Site user except when knowingly provided by such individual. For example, we may ask you for information when you register for a survey or request additional information. You always have the option not to provide the information we request. If you choose not to provide the information we request, you can still visit most of the Site, but you may be unable to access certain options and services.

Web server activity logs:

Like most web servers on the Internet, our servers collect and store all of the information that your web browser sends when it requests a web page, including:

the name, domain, and numerical internet address of the “host” computer (typically a computer belonging to your Internet Service Provider and not your personal computer) from which you access the Internet;

the date and time you accessed the Site;

the Internet address of the web page that you came from;

the page you requested from the Site and the number of characters sent to your computer; and

the information your web browser software sends as its so-called “User Agent,” which typically identifies the browser software and may also indicate the operating system and type of CPU used in your personal computer.

It is impossible to determine the actual identify of an individual user from this information. This is not entirely true. It is certainly not easy, but an IP address points to an ISP, and that ISPs records can link the IP address to a user.

The logs are periodically summarized and analyzed in order to study the Site usage over time and to perform other studies to help us improve the Site’s organization, performance, and usefulness.

Electronic mail:

When you send us personal identifying information via e-mail (that is, in a message containing a question or comment, or by filling out a form that e-mails us this information), we use it to respond to your requests. We may forward your e-mail to other partner programs that are better able to answer your questions. We do not retain or distribute lists of e-mail addresses to any parties outside of WW IDEA, Inc. except as necessary to conduct business.

File transfer protocol (FTP):

Our Site, using the file transfer protocol may also store your e-mail address if your web browser is configured to provide it. By default most web browser software does not send your e-mail address; this option is configured through your browser preferences. In Netscape Navigator, for example this option must be set by you through the Advanced Preferences Category by the item labeled, "Send email address as anonymous FTP password."

Online surveys:

When you voluntarily provide use with personal information as part of an online survey, we use it to perform various quantitative and qualitative analyses to improve customer service and satisfaction. We may forward the information collected to other partner programs to perform the actual analysis. You are under no obligation to participate in such surveys. Non-participation will not inhibit your use of the Site in any way. If you provided the information to us in error, you may request its removal at any time. (maybe mention contact info at end of document)

Marketing information:

We may collect information from you, with your permission, that will allow us to provide various customer services, such as program materials and availability. We may forward the information collected to other partner programs to provide specific services. If you provided the information to us in error, you may request its removal at any time. Contact Us at any time to do so.

Retention of collected information:

Cookies: We do not retain any record of “cookies” beyond what is necessary for running the application.

Web server activity logs: Monthly extracts of the log files are archived and stored off-line at our discretion for an indefinite period of time. Some statistical summaries derived from these data may be retained online or off-line at our discretion for an indefinite period of time. (as far as I know our Rackspace log files are stored indefinitely on the server, they are not currently archived, we are generating statistical summaries and making them available on-line)

E-Mail: Information collected via e-mail will be retained at our discretion in a directly readable form for as long as necessary to complete our response.

Online surveys: Information collected via online surveys may be maintained at our discretion for an indefinite period of time.

Marketing information: Such information may be maintained at our discretion for an indefinite period of time.

How We Use the Information:

We never sell, rent, or otherwise share our visitor’s personal information with third parties without permission.

Our primary goal in collecting user information is to enhance your experience on the Site. We achieve this goal by, among other things, developing future content based on your interest. To develop content targeted to your interests, we store aggregated user information to determine which areas of the Site users prefer based upon traffic to those areas. We do not track what individual users read, but instead how well each page or content area performs overall. (we do know which pages individual IP addresses have requested)

We may disclose personally identifiable information in response to a legal process, for example, in response to a court order or a subpoena. We also may disclose such information in response to a law enforcement agency’s request, or where we have a good faith belief that it is necessary to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person, violations of our terms of use, or as otherwise required by law.

We will not use or transfer personally identifiable information in ways that are materially different form the ones described in this Policy or without providing notification of such practices and obtaining consent for any materially different uses.

Cookies and Web Beacons:

WW IDEA, Inc. uses a software technology called "cookies." Cookies are small text files that we place in visitor’s computer browsers to store their preferences. Cookies themselves do not contain any personally identifiable information. One of the primary purposes of cookies is to provide a convenience feature to save you time. Cookies allow us to relate a visitor’s use of the Site to personal information that the visitor has provided, such as an e-mail address. In addition we use cookies to determine how many visitors we have and how often they visit various sections of the Site (we are not currently doing this, but it’s a good idea).

"Web beacons," also known as clear .gif technology, or action tags, are small pieces of code placed on a web page to monitor the behavior and collect data about the visitors viewing the web page. For example, web beacons can be used to count the users who visit a web page or to deliver a cookie to the browser of the visitor viewing that page. We may use web beacons on the Site from time to time for this and other purposes.

Links and pointers to third-party sites are provided for information only and do not constitute endorsement, express or implied, by WW-IDEA, Inc., of the referenced organization, their suitability, content, products, or services, whether they are governmental, educational, or commercial.

The Site contains links to other sites, whose information practices may be different from ours. Visitors should consult these other third party sites’ privacy notices, since these sites are not covered by our privacy policy and may follow different procedures.

In addition these third party sites may use cookies, web beacons, or similar technologies to help present the information on their sites and to help measure and research the effectiveness of their sites.

We will identify material we use from sources outside of WW IDEA, Inc., and request others do the same when using information published by WW IDEA, Inc.

Security:

We have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and help prevent unauthorized access, maintain data security, and correctly use the information we collect online. These safeguards may include encryption, “FIREWALLS” and Secure Sockets Layers (“SSL”). We treat data as an asset that must be protected against loss and unauthorized access and employ many different security techniques to protect such data from unauthorized access by those inside and outside the organization. However, “perfect security” does not exist on the Internet.

To determine if you are in a secure area you should check for an unbroken or a closed lock on the task bar. You may also check by looking at the URL line of your browser, when accessing a secure server, the site address will change from http to https. (we currently do not use https (ssl) on the Idaho site, a user could point to this statement and say that the Idaho site is not secure)

Liability:

WW IDEA, Inc. or its employees do not make any warranty, express or implied, nor assume any legal liability or responsibility for the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any information, apparatus, product, or process disclosed on the Site, nor represent that its use would not infringe on privately owned rights.
